Elliott, Jr., 96, of Hurricane, passed away April 26, 2022.\u00a0He was born March 21, 1926 in Glenville, the son of John P. and Audrey Ellyson Elliott, Sr. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his sister, Bernice Crouse.\u00a0John was a retired pipefitter for Union Carbide with over 30 years of service. He was a US Marine veteran of WWII. John was an avid trap shooter. He was a highly accomplished shooter where he was inducted into the trap shooters hall of fame. John was a member of Pt. Pleasant Shooting Club and the St. Albans Moose.\u00a0He is survived by sons, Steve, of Martinsburg, and Robert Elliott, of Alexandria, VA, daughter, Cynthia Hoopes, of Powell, OH, grandchildren, Chris, Sam, and CarolynCelebration of John\u2019s life will be 12:00 P.M. Saturday, April 30, 2022 at Casdorph &amp; Curry Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Cunningham Memorial Park, St. Albans, with military graveside rites conducted by St. Albans VFW Post 6418 and American Legion Post 73.<\/p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>John registered 158,600 Singles, 91,575 Handicap and 28,550 Doubles since joining the ATA in 1963. John was always willing to help out at the club whether it was loading targets, scoring or general maintenance around the club.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-gallery has-nested-images columns-default is-cropped wp-block-gallery-1 is-layout-flex wp-block-gallery-is-layout-flex\"><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-gallery has-nested-images columns-default is-cropped wp-block-gallery-2 is-layout-flex wp-block-gallery-is-layout-flex\"><\/figure>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>John P.
