I just learned of James Marcum’s passing today in February of 2022. James was a quiet fellow who was an accomplished skeet shooter. Marcum, Jerry Lawson, Eric Reger and Adam Cline becoming disillusioned with skeet tried Trapshooting. James broke 99 from the 20.5 yard line to claim the 2008 WV Handicap Championship. James started registering targets in 1997 to 2019 totaling 15,700 singles, 13300 handicap and 9000 doubles. Below is his obituary.

James Michael Marcum, 64, of Huntington, WV husband of Ellen Brown Marcum passed away on Thursday February 3, 2022 at St. Mary’s Medical Center. He was a retired employee of St. Mary’s Medical Center. James was born on April 11, 1957 in Huntington, WV the son of the late James and Norma Adkins Marcum. Graveside services will be held on Wednesday February 9, 2022 at 1:00pm at Spring Hill Cemetery. In addition to his wife Ellen he is survived by his sister Donna Jane Marcum, a nephew: Robin Poindexter and a cousin Debbie Marcum Rhodes. At his request there will be no visitation and the family request no flowers but to make a donation to the charity of ones choice. Reger Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
