Michael Whitmore Singles Championship
Forty- one (41) shooters took the line to vie for top honors in the Michael Whitmore Singles Championship. Taite Fix and Charles Templeton both shot top scores of 196. Fix, leaving early, forfeited the shoot-off giving Templeton the title. Fix dropped back to Class A winner. Robert Harden broke a 194 for Class AA honors; Joseph Santos hit 192 birds garnering Class B laurels; Class C went to Chris Trefny breaking 190; Darrell Green knocking down 180 clays for Class D buckle. Sub-Vet was the only category resulting in a tie. Squad mates, Randy Jones and Mikel Boone, squared off with Boone the victor. Category Winners: Zane McHenry – Jr; Linda Roberts – Lady; Dylan Zepp – Sub Jr.; Darrell Murray – Sr. Vet and Mark Isner – Veteran.

Mikel Boone Preliminary Handicap
Forty (40) shooters competed in the Mikel Boone Preliminary Handicap which had $1,000. Added Money. Templeton again tied the top score of 91 along with Jeff Steley. With Steely taking Champion honors. Templeton forfeited and dropped back to Senior Vet. Gregory Moody broke 90, for the19-21 prize; Raymond Childers, 89, for the 22-23 honors. Ray advised, this was his first buckle win (Congratulations Ray!); 24-25 victor Sham Sase carded an 86; and 26-27 winner Darrel Murray completed the yardage group winners. Category winners Junior – Zane McHenry; Lady – Linda Roberts; SubVet – Mikel Boone; Grandfather and Grandson duo, Paul and Dylan Zepp won Veteran and Sub Jr respectively.

Ethan Ferris Doubles Championship
Twenty six (26 shooters witnessed Alec Sauble break 98 to win the Ethan Ferris Doubles Championship by four targets. Class AA – Robert Harden, 92; Class A – John Bechtel 78; Class B – James Bechtel, 94; Nathan Dirks – 88, Class C and Class D – Thomas Bomba 85. Category victors: Zane McHenry – Junior; Robert Kemp – Sub-Vet; Dylan Zepp – Sub Jr; Darrel Murray – Sr. Vet and Veteran – John Baum.






Curt Corey & Ray’s Guns Handicap Championship
The Curt Corey & Ray’s Guns Handicap Championship had a whopping $4000. in Added Money! $2,000 was donated to Sunday’s Handicap Event by Ray’s Gun & Ammo paid out $500.00 for each of the four yardage groups. Thanks to Raymond Childers owner of Ray’s Guns and Ammo. Curt Corey donated another $2,000 which was added to the special event total. We thank Curt and all of our sponsors for their generosity and support of trapshooting.
Congratulations to Thomas Thompson on posting the high score of 96 from the 24 yard line to take the Handicap Championship. Taite Fix carded the next highest score a 95 for 24-25 yard honors. James Bechtel and Nathan Dirks both broke 94 to claim 26-27 and 19-21 yds respectively and Frank Furr’s 90 won 22-23 yds. Categories were as follows: Zane McHenry, 80 – Junior; Lady, Brandy Gibbons, 87; Sub-Vet, Mikel Boone, 93; Gary Gaither, 91, Sr. Vet and the Grandfather and Grandson duo strikes double buckles again Paul and Dylan Zepp 89 & 85 respectively.









High All Around Award
Mary K. Lafollette, wife, of the late Donnie Lafollette, was in attendance during Sunday’s Events. She presented the “Donnie Lafollette Memorial Buckle” to the High All Around winner, Taite Fix who had the high score of 380/400.
Donnie passed away suddenly late last June and will be missed by the West Virginia Trapshooting Community.
